Healthy Pets have recently made some changes to their policy offering. These changes affect new policies on offer. If you already have a policy with Healthy Pets then you should have a copy of the your policy terms. If any changes apply to you then you will be notified at renewal time.
New Accident Policy
Healthy Pets now offer a basic accident policy which will provide cover for up to 12 months if your pet requires vet treatment as a result of accident with a limit of £1,000. It also includes third party liability cover.
Vet Fees Limits
They have introduced some limits on vet fees.
Complementary fees are now limited to £400 for the Accident and Bronze policies, £500 for the Silver policy and £750 for the Gold policy.
There are also now limits on what you can claim for the treatment of cruciate ligament injuries and CT/MRI scans. The limits are different for each policy.
The excess charge for pets under 5 has been increased from £85 to £99. There is no longer a facility to increase this in return for a lower premium.
Previously no contribution payments were charged for pets under 6. Healthy Pets will now charge 15% of vet fees for pets aged 5. This will increase to 20% for pets aged 6 or over (which is the same rate as previously charged).
