    No separate limits for complementary therapies
    Maximum age for new policies is usually 11 years but is 6 years for certain breeds of dog.
    No contribution payments for older pets.
    Will only pay for the out of hours costs if it was absolutely essential and that not taking action would have seriously worsened your pet's condition.
    Has maximum treatment fees for appointments/tests etc.
    Will not pay for prescription food or behavioural treatment.

  • Direct Line define a complementary therapy as any manipulative therapy carried out by a suitably qualified person and recommended by your vet.
    Will also pay for alternative therapies provided directly by a vet who is trained to do so.
    Will pay a maximum of £25 per session for physiotherapy or hydrotherapy.
    Will not pay for more than 12 sessions of physiotherapy or hydrotherapy per condition.

  • The standard excess for vet fees is £80 per condition for dogs and £70 per condition for cats.
    You can opt to double this in return for a lower premium.
    The excess for third party liability cover is £250.
    There are no contribution payments for pets of any age.

  • The maximum age for new policies is 11 years (6 years for some breeds)
    There are no higher excess payments or contribution payments for older pets.
    Our research suggests that higher premiums are charged for older pets.
