This is a lifetime policy but only provides vet fees cover for accidents. This policy will provide £2,500 vet fees cover per year subject to a lifetime limit of £15,000 per accident Injuries occurring during the first 5 days of the policy are not covered No third party public liability cover. You have to pay 20% of vet fees for dogs over 8 years old and cats over 10 years old. Will not pay for treatment of cruciate ligament injuries. Will not pay for conditions resulting from your pet being overweight Will only pay the extra costs for out of hours consultations if your pet is suffering from an imminent life-endangering condition which required emergency intervention.
Will pay for the following therapies providing they are administered by a practitioner who is a member of one of the organisations listed in their policy document providing the treatment is recommended by a vet. Physiotherapy Hydrotherapy Acupuncture Osteotherapy Chiropractic Manipulation Herbal Medicine Homeopathy There are no separate cover limits for complementary treatment. It is included with the vet fees cover limit.
The standard excess is £99 per condition per policy year. The excess for third party public liability claims is £250. You will have to pay a contribution of 20% for any claims for dogs over 8 years of age and cats over 10 years of age.
There is no upper age limit for new policies. Animal Friends do not automatically charge higher premiums for older pets.You do though have to pay a contribution of 20% of all vet fees.
